Jean Shirts!

November 29, 2012

Hello!

Today’s post is a brief one. I have loads of work to do!

Today my friend Charlotte and I were both wearing jean shirts; I knew I had to post a picture! Notice how I’m wearing mine with a blouse underneath, gray corduroys and cognac boots, while Charlotte is wearing hers with a ruffled, tutu style skirt, tights and laced up black booties. I would have to say this shirt is the most versatile item of clothing I’ve ever owned!

Alice + Olivia RTW 2013

October 25, 2012

Hello everyone!

I’m currently in love with Alice + Olivia’s new spring collection. Stacy Bendet has done it again! My lack of sleep and my overworked mind are possible variables in my current love-fest but I simply cannot get over this beautiful array of looks!

I’m thinking Betty Draper from Mad Men, no?

Swooning. Kate Middleton recently wore a dress that bears a striking resemblance to this one.

Anyways, back to AP work and college applications!

September 3, 2012

Hello everyone!

As the summer draws to a close, I’ve been thinking a lot about the coming year. Though I’m sad that the days of sleeping in, going to the beach and eating excessive amounts of frozen yogurt are nearly over, I’m excited for what’s in store for the next ten months.

Here’s one last dose of summer!

Blouse – Nordstrom, Skirt – Forever 21, Wedges – DSW

I purchased this skirt almost two years ago, but soon realized that none the shirts I owned remotely matched it. Luckily, I found this adorable Peter Pan collared blouse at Nordstrom at the end of the spring!

New Orleans!

July 14, 2012

Hey everyone,

I hope you all are having an enjoyable summer!

I apologize for my negligence of this blog. However, I recently returned from a 2-week community service trip in New Orleans and I have some awesome photos. I had a blast volunteering, making friends and exploring the city! Here are some pictures from my trip:

JHarb + New York

May 31, 2012

Hey everyone!

This past week has been so fun-filled that I’m going to do a kind of “double post”…I mean 2 topics in 1? Double the fun! Anyways, last Thursday night, my grade had our annual Junior Harbor Cruise. It’s basically a semi-formal dance on a boat. The dance was okay, but I had the most fun getting ready and taking pictures with my friends!

Image

Two days after JHarb, I went to New York City with five of my friends– without parents! Navigating a city and planning out a vacation is so much different when nobody is there to guide you. But we got around pretty well! We went to Central Park, Soho, Canal Street and Times Square and even made it to an awesome show on Saturday night called Fuerza Bruta. The only way to describe would be to say that it was a nonstop collision of music, emotion and aerial imagery. The show starts with a guy in a suit who faces harsh winds, flying objects and brick walls while chasing after something. At one point there’s a massive swimming pool suspended over the audience, in which performers swim, jump and frolic. The show ends with an awesome techno dance party, in which the DJ sprays people with water. Overall the show was great!

Auschwitz Chic…?!

May 7, 2012

Hey guys,

It’s been months since I’ve posted and I am truly sorry. If anyone who is reading this right now has experienced junior year, you will understand my lack of attention to the blog.

Okay let’s get right down to it. I saw something horrifying on the CNN website today that made me want to gag. I’m sure some of you have heard about this, but I just found out about it today. Urban Outfitters has released a graphic tee that pays homage to “Jude” patches Jewish victims of the Holocaust were forced to wear. As a frequent shopper at UO, I’m seriously considering writing an email to the CEO of the company because I am disgusted. As a person who visited Poland this past summer and toured Auschwitz concentration camp, I cannot believe that Urban Outfitters would sell an item of clothing in a style they call “Auschwitz Chic”. There is absolutely nothing remotely stylish about a genocide in which 6 million Jews were mass murdered….  This is the t-shirt:

So after I wrote the beginning of this post, I surfed the internet for a few minutes to see if Urban had removed the shirt. Although I saw on the UO website that the shirt is no longer being sold, I’m still not satisfied; the fact that Urban even SOLD this shirt in the first place really resonates with me. Any thoughts?

Bonjour mes amis…

Believe it or not, I actually had some free time tonight to take some pictures for the blog! Oh, and I would like to introduce my AMAZING little sister/photographer extraordinaire…Lo (her name is Lauren but she prefers Lo. Makes her sound like Lauren Conrad’s bff on The Hills. haha.)
